Schecter apparently works at Steven Price's amusement park. When Evelyn decides to have her birthday party at the Vannacutt Psychiatric Institute for the Criminally Insane, Price has Schecter monitor the facility from inside and set up several harmless traps to scare the guests.
When the facility mysteriously goes into lockdown, Price blames and scolds Schecter until Schecter explains that he isn't the one who activated the lockdown. Price then shifts the blame to Evelyn, and leaves Schecter alone in the control room. Later, Price returns to the control room to find Schecter dead with his face carved out of his skull, presumably by the ghosts in the house. After he died, Schecter's soul presumably joined the other ghosts trapped in the house. However, it can also be presumed that Schecter's ghost was freed from the house when Ariel Wolfe removed the Baphomet Idol from the facility in Return to House on Haunted Hill.
